About Jordyn Barratt
Jordyn is a competitive surfer and skateboarder originally from the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii and a recent transplant to Encinitas, CA . Although surfing since she was 4 and spending most of her youth in the water swimming, surfing , cave diving and body surfing she got the skateboarding bug at age 11 at her local skatepark in Hawaii and was immediately hooked!
Jordyn started her skate competitions at age 14 and is a ranked World Cup Skateboarding Athlete and competes in the US Open in Huntington Beach, The Vans Combi Pool Classic, Exposure Skate (supporting Women in Skateboarding), Super-girl Pro, The Tim Brauch Memorial Bowl Jam, Clash at Clairemont and other local demos and events. Her competitive surfing career launched at 15 via the WSA, NSSA, and Surfing America with events all over California. With a passion to travel Jordyn recently completed a surf team trip to Nicaragua spending time surfing with the local kids and experiencing a new culture.
Although currently competing as an amateur, Jordyn’s plans is to compete in a few Junior Pro events with a ultimate goal to become the first girl to compete in both the US Open of Surfing as a surfer and a skater! These goals take a ton of work and Jordyn is not afraid to hit the gym and train including cross-training via competitive volleyball and structured fitness programs all the while getting great grades in school!
When not training, competing in surf or skate events you can find Jordyn hanging out with friends at the local skate park or surf break, spending time with family, playing volleyball and of course enjoying one her favorite things...Going to the Movies!
